We’d like to thank all the young people who entered the Garganey Trust’s creative writing and photography competition, as a celebration of the beauty of Broomhill Flash in Wombwell, Barnsley.
Sadly due to Covid-19 we can no longer hold the celebration and exhibition event in Darfield. However, we are able to share the fantastic entries and winners in this online exhibition instead.
Here you can see all the photographs, stories and poems that entered.
Competition themes were to capture an aspect of the nature reserve’s heritage, wildlife, conservation or habitat management. Specific suggestions included: the reserve’s wildlife, wilderness, landscape, archaeology, farming methods, flood risk management, water management and local history.
