Founder of the Garganey Trust, Jeff lives in Barnsley has been widely involved in wildlife and countryside matters all his life. He’s worked professionally and voluntarily for over 40 years across the UK as a nature conservationist and naturalist. He’s led many projects and teams to protect and improve important places for wildlife, particularly in the Yorkshire region.
David lives in Kirkburton in Yorkshire and has worked for Natural England in both regional and national roles, including their national urban advisor. He was the City Ecologist for Leeds City Council and is a founding trustee of the Garganey Trust.
Andy lives in Burton-upon-Stather in North Lincolnshire. He’s a managing director of an environment and ground engineering business for a global consultancy firm. Previously, he managed the West Yorkshire Ecological Advisory Service at Cliffe Castle in Keighley, providing ecological advice and information for planning and conservation purposes.
Born in Barnsley, Geoff has had a lifelong interest in wildlife and is an active member of Barnsley Bird Study Group and the Flamborough Bird Observatory. He was the first Chairman of the Barnsley Biodiversity Trust and was formerly Head of the Countryside Service at Barnsley Council, and now works as a consultant ecologist. He’s a bird ringer and has a particular interest in bird research.
Dr Keith Clarkson
Brought up in Sheffield, Keith recently retired from his dream job as manager of RSPB’s Bempton Cliffs and Coquet Island nature reserves. His career also included a PhD on bird behaviour, ecological research in the Canadian Arctic, California and Australia. Closer to home, he became the Peak District National Park Authority’s Assistant National Park Officer. In 2019 he was awarded the Professor Robert Boucher Medal for his lifelong contribution to ornithology and conservation by the University of Sheffield.
